The final two fights in the 60kg Muscle Wine tournament unfolded yesterday with Long Sophy and Nuon Phireak fighting for first and second place and Van  Chanvay and Heng Samring fighting for third and fourth.

Long Sophy Nuon Phireak went the distance. Phireak bloodied Sophy’s nose in the second, but overall just was probably just not busy enough to earn the win. Conversely, Chanvay brutalized Heng Samring though 3 and a half. By the second Samring look resigned. In the fouth he went down three times, all from low kicks.

Long Sophy will fight Lao Sinath in two weeks.

In an unusual Sunday afternoon twist American football player Dhani Jones, a line-backer for the Cincinnati Bengals, went three rounds with Pan Phanith, who has not been inside the ring in well over three years. Dubbed an “international friendly,” which seems to mean outcome is fixed, Jones won on point decision.
